Hanstholm Sweater

This pattern is in English.

The Hanstholm Sweater is a simple and classic men’s sweater with a good fit. It is worked top-down with raglan increases. Short rows are worked after the collar to shape the neck opening. To build the collar, the neck ribbing is folded over and seamed to the inside of the sweater. To maintain a good fit of the neck a thin elastic thread can be run through the casing of the collar.

Northland Sweater

This knitting pattern is in English.

The Northland Sweater is worked from the top down. The first part of the yoke is worked back and forth on a circular needle to shape the neckline, then the work is joined to continue knitting in the round. The construction of the yoke begins with shoulder increases on both right side and wrong side rows, continues with sleeve increases and ends with classic raglan increases. The rib edge at the neck is worked at the end from stitches that are picked up. The sleeves are worked in the round on double-pointed needles or on a long circular needle using the Magic Loop technique. The Northland Sweater is worked seamlessly and requires no finishing other than weaving in ends.

Begin by working a swatch to determine which needle size you need to achieve the correct gauge. Note that the swatch needs to be washed and blocked before measuring the gauge, as the recommended yarn relaxes when washed.

Size guide The Northland Sweater is designed to have approx. 10 cm [4 inches] of positive ease. Sizes S (M) L (XL) 2XL are intended for a bust circumference of approx. 90 (95) 100 (110) 120 cm [35½ (37½) 39½ (43¼) 47¼ inches]. Measure the intended recipient using a measuring tape around the widest part of their torso to determine which size to knit. Example: If they measure 100 cm [39½ inches] around the bust (or their widest part), you should knit a size L.
